UNBOUND, written and directed by filmmaker Andi Woodward, is a coming of age short film about a twenty-something year old woman overcoming indecision and her own lethargic disposition. Recently fired from her job, Milly (Betty Allen) reluctantly obeys her mother’s ultimatum in exchange for rent payment and goes to see a Life Coach (Jenny Harter).

Milly’s selfishness and inconsiderate behavior hinder her in life, but a young boy from the LGBT community named Robert (Derek Delloro) is about to enter her self-centered world and change it forever.

This is my senior thesis film created while attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

“A pesar de mí” es el primer cortometraje de la fotógrafa y realizadora Palmira Escobar.
Una historia lésbica, un grito a la visibilidad, pinceladas de crítica social pero sobre todo es una metáfora de vida y sentimientos en la que cualquier persona puede proyectarse.

SINOPSIS

Existen silencios que gritan, que sienten, que callan, que reivindican…
“A pesar de mí” es un intenso cortometraje de temática lésbica que a través de los conflictos de sus personajes nos sumerge en nuestras propias contradicciones y deseos, nos obliga a preguntar y a esperar con paciencia la respuesta, a olvidar para recordar quiénes somos.
El peso de un secreto, la autoafirmación femenina, una trama oculta.
Una historia que se debate e indaga entre lo real y lo ficticio, en los entresijos de la superficialidad, en lo vulnerable de lo externo.
